Do Women Need Feminism?

Feminism , often a matter of great debate in our everyday life. We talk about gender discrimination, women wrights and other social issues related to men and women responsibilities and rights. However, patriarchy denotes some specific stereotypical attitude towards women, which pushes women to be feminist sometimes.
I watched a public debate on Feminism and wish to share . I hope it will add some points to our thinking.

I wish I could watch the whole video..may be later. Reading your post(though few lines) I would say Feminism is a reactionary movement from it's inception. The social structure of west needed that movement in order to save women from injustice. But in context of Our country Feminism fails to attract women in general. Because Feminist of Bangladesh fails to study Bangladesh society, her problems and challenges, they just tried to copy and pest ideas and concept from west. That's why feminist in Bangladesh have no ground in wider society. Now answering the question, do women need feminism? I would say In BD context new kind of Women activism necessary which will work for women rights, women empowerment, education etc that not necessarily need to be under the word FEMINISM"

Agreed with your points. Women rights organizations in our society have failed to propose any model structure of men and women co-existence maintaining all other social values.

I think through this ISM, women achieve something but lost many things at the same time. In Bangladesh women suffers a lot from various aspect, no body can denied it. For them our conscious women should come forward with new ideas and vision.
